Silent Screams

Play Synopsis

Silent Screams is a play about mental illness and the struggles a family faces while plagued by it. The play follows the life of Karen and her family after the death of her mother thirty years earlier to an overdose of pills.  Karen is in denial about the death of her mother and her mental illness until she embarrasses her family at an outing where she is asked to leave because of her behavior.   The play shows the effects mental illness has on her and also on her family. With treatment Karen is able to overcome her illness and live a normal life.
